1991 saw the dawn of Kavitha Memorial Degree and PG College, a steady beginning that has culminated into a very successful and profitable one. The concept of starting a modern, enlightened and progressive college of good standards was conceptualised by Sri Kavitha Educational Society whose primary vision lies in provision of good and sound education to the students so that they turn out to be useful and sensible citizens of our country. Sri Kavitha Educational Society is registered under the Public Societies Registration Act 1350 (Act I of 1350 F) with Registration number 1119 of 1991.

We feel proud to reveal that we were the first institution in Khammam district to introduce computer Science as a subject at undergraduate level. The same was subsequently followed by introduction of Statistics as an optional subject and then BBM, BSc Electronics, , Bio-Chemistry and Bio-Technology Courses. Our students are taught in modern, spacious and well-ventilated classrooms allied with other facilities as Laboratories, Library, Reading Room, Ladies Waiting Room, and a big Computer Center. In tune with the changing academic scenario, the college has established well equipped , Bio-Chemistry, and Bio-Technology Laboratories, which are commended by many Visiting University Committees.

1993-94 saw the introduction of Courses as MCA, MBA, MSc (Mathematics), MSc (Computer Science), MSc (Organic Chemistry) and finally MSc () course in 1998-1999. All of these enhanced our reputation and enabled us to obtain permanent affiliation from Kakatiya University Wide Proceeding No. 17/B4 (Affin) KU/97, dated 04/01/1997. We have been recognized by University Grants Commission under Section 2 (F) and 12 (B) of University Grants Commission Act, the same enabling us to procure grants from it. Ours is the only college in the private sector in this district to built up a modern Bio-Technology lab with the financial assistance from the University Grants Commission, New Delhi which has sponsored, in this Current Academic year career oriented Programmes along with regular Courses. The excellence of our laboratories of Bio-Technology, , and Bio-Chemistry can be gauged from the fact that the local Diagnostic centres also look towards us for and makes use of our superb facilities.

With unstinting efforts and a well-charted out vision came the entry of qualified, intelligent and forward thinking members to guide the growth of our college into a premier college in the whole of Khammam district. So excellent has been the surge in our reputation that students from rural habitats in and around the district deem it a privilege to join the portals of our college. To this, we attribute our unswerving dedication and commitment to provide nothing but the best education to our students and groom them to become useful and responsible citizens of our country.

To ensure that the same does not wither away, we possess a pool of qualified, experienced and inspirational teaching staff members to guide them. Allied with top class and state-of-the-art infrastructure and a healthy environment set up that stimulates creative thinking and inquisitive curiosity, we have been successful in helping them to become useful students. We also encourage the spirit of Sports Psychology and social activities as to foster the birth of seeds of vigourous mind, alert thinking and greater awareness for the lesser one’s.  To facilitate the same, we possess state-of-the-art Technology, well-equipped laboratories, well-stocked library with latest titles and National & International journals and a computer centre that boast of the latest Technology tools, updated software packages & Internet facilities which are aimed at fostering overall personality development.

We also foster the spirit of national unity and patriotism through such diverse community care activities like NSS & NCC and Community Projects. In addition, we also arrange ‘site visits’ to local industrial Units and premier academic & research institutions; the same encourages the all around development of student.

We have set up in an area of a built up area of 1,00,000 Sft the Degree Campus is built up in one-acre land with 60,000 sft built up area in the heart of Khammam town. A separate campus exists for post graduation Courses was built up in five acres of land with two buildings of 40,000 sft built up area in Velugumatla Village in Khammam Urban Mandal.
